Planning an event naturally comes with many questions. There is no such thing as a bad or silly question — in fact, the more details clarified in advance, the more relaxed and confident you can be while preparing for your big day. We understand that true peace of mind comes from having clear answers, which is why we have collected the most frequently asked questions below.

What furniture and equipment are included in the rental fee?
Bodor Major provides wooden banquet tables and chairs in the restaurant area. These are dressed with white tablecloths and green seat cushions. On the terrace, we set up high cocktail tables for welcome receptions. In the evening, fairy lights create a romantic atmosphere both inside the restaurant and on the terrace.
For couples envisioning a more modern or elegant style, additional furniture rental options are available on-site, including round tables, gold metal-framed chairs, and ghost chairs.
Is it possible to bring in cakes or desserts?
Yes. With prior consultation and the appropriate documentation, we accept externally sourced desserts. We provide refrigeration, service, and catering equipment for these items.
Can the recommended dinner menus be modified?
Absolutely. In our introductory materials, couples will find suggested menu combinations designed to accommodate a variety of tastes and preferences. However, dishes can be exchanged or modified. We offer a “food bank” list from which couples can select alternatives, and we are also happy to accommodate unique or special requests. A customized quote is prepared for any modified menu.
What happens if it rains during the ceremony?
If the weather is less favorable for an outdoor ceremony, there is no need to worry. The Major offers several covered options in the park area in front of the restaurant. Our most popular covered ceremony location is the romantic ivy-covered pavilion, but the covered, festoon-lit area beside the restaurant is also a beautiful setting to say “I do.”
Is on-site accommodation available?
Yes. Our Guesthouse offers 29 rooms for wedding guests, and during the season we expand with an additional 32 rooms, allowing us to accommodate up to 130 guests after the celebration.
Is there an opportunity for creative wedding photography?
The estate spans 50 hectares, offering a variety of stunning photo locations. The wooded area provides romantic, nature-filled backdrops; the park in front of the csárda features beautiful flowers; and the meadow behind the csárda is perfect for sunset photography. For more playful, relaxed photos, couples often venture closer to our horses, posing near the animals, paddocks, and hay bales — creating a true country atmosphere.
Okay… but what about hidden costs?
We receive this question frequently — and understandably so. Unfortunately, it is common for couples not to receive full transparency elsewhere and to encounter unexpected costs at or even after signing the contract.
At Bodor Major, there are no hidden costs. We ensure that our very first proposal and the attached presentation materials clearly outline all details. If a couple wishes to implement a unique request, everything is clarified and priced before signing the contract. Following a detailed quotation and personal consultation, all items are recorded in the contract — eliminating any surprise expenses.
What size corporate events can you accommodate?
From small team-building events for 10–20 participants to large-scale corporate gatherings with several hundred guests, we flexibly adapt to your needs.
Thanks to the venue’s facilities and spacious grounds, we are well equipped to host large events. Our largest indoor hall can accommodate up to 250 guests seated at the same time. In good weather, with outdoor programs and the use of multiple event areas, significantly larger events can also be successfully organized.
The exact capacity always depends on your vision and the schedule of the program.
Is exclusive venue hire available?
Yes, exclusive use of the event area is available for an additional fee, ensuring your program can run without interruption.
Do you provide catering services?
Yes, full-service food and beverage catering is available, with various menu packages tailored to individual needs.
Is on-site accommodation available?
Yes, guesthouse accommodation is available near the venue, offering a convenient solution for multi-day events.
What types of programs can we choose from?
Team-building games, traditional heritage presentations, equestrian programs, sports competitions, water-based activities, and evening show elements are all available.
Do you provide technical equipment for conferences?
Yes, a projector, sound system, microphones, projection screen, and basic technical background are available.
Can the program proceed in bad weather?
Yes, we have covered and indoor venues, so the event can be held regardless of weather conditions.
How far in advance should we book?
For larger events, booking 3–6 months in advance is recommended. For smaller events, 1–2 months may be sufficient, depending on availability.
Is customized decoration and corporate branding possible?
Yes, corporate logos, banners, custom decorations, and themed setups can all be arranged.
How does the quotation and planning process work?
After receiving your inquiry, we contact you to discuss your needs and prepare a personalized proposal. Throughout the planning process, a dedicated contact person will assist you.
What age groups is the venue suitable for?
The venue is recommended for both children and adults. We gladly welcome everyone from kindergarten groups to high school students.
Are there indoor program options in case of bad weather?
Yes, depending on the group size. Indoor activities and games can be arranged in the Kemencés Csárda, the Pajta Pub, and the Conference Room.
What outdoor areas are available?
The Major spans 50 hectares, offering a variety of outdoor spaces to choose from.
Options include open fields (for stargazing and team games), forest excursions (night hikes, number war games), a sports field, and an outdoor fitness area.
Is separate accommodation provided for accompanying teachers?
Yes, we provide separate double rooms with private bathrooms for accompanying teachers.
Teachers receive a 50% discount.
The discount applies only to double occupancy and cannot be used for single-room accommodation.
Can you provide special dietary options (gluten-free, lactose-free, vegetarian)?
Yes, of course. Any dietary requirements must be submitted at least two weeks prior to arrival.
Is there an opportunity for outdoor cooking or oven-baking programs?
Yes, the Major has a designated outdoor cooking area with cauldrons, as well as two outdoor ovens located at the end of the terrace, both of which can be used.
Do you organize thematic, experience-based activities?
Yes, the Major also hosts various workshops and craft activities.
Is it possible to have a campfire or evening group program?
Yes, there is a designated fire pit area at the Major, and evening programs can also be arranged.
Is bed linen and towels provided?
Yes, we provide bed linen and towels for all guests. There is no need to remove the bed linen upon departure.
Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes, free Wi-Fi is available throughout the guesthouse.
Can extra beds be added to the rooms?
Yes, extra beds are available. However, they can only be provided for children under the age of 14.
Is single occupancy available?
Yes, single-room accommodation is available upon prior arrangement.
Are group discounts available?
Yes, for group bookings of more than 51 guests, we offer a customized group discount.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in: until 3:00 PM
Check-out: until 10:00 AM
What should guests do upon departure?
There is no need to remove the bed linen. The room door does not need to be locked; please leave the key in the lock.
Is there a reception at the accommodation?
There is no permanent reception desk; however, our staff are available by phone at +36 20 378 0878.
Is smoking allowed in the rooms?
No. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the rooms and all indoor areas. It is only permitted in designated smoking areas.
Is breakfast or coffee included?
Not automatically. Breakfast is currently available only for group bookings or guests attending events, and must be arranged in advance.
